JUNE IS RIVERS MONTH !!
There’s always something to do or learn at the Quaboag !              

     *Open-Air Music Series: Spectators are welcome and all music events offer grilled food
and the sale of beer/wine.  Boaters are welcome !

From Friday, May 9th to Sunday, July 6 the Massachusetts Riverways Program provides the opportunity to participate in events in, on and along the rivers of the Commonwealth.  Take this opportunity to invite your friends, family, local leaders, legislators, and /or a favorite reporter to clean up, paddle, protect, enjoy and celebrate your favorite rivers and streams or experience new ones.  Get some healthful exercise in and/or along the Commonwealth’s many scenic waterways.  The 2008 Massachusetts Rivers Month Calendar may be accessed on-line at http://www.massriverways.org

SELF GUIDED TOURS: 
Here at White’s Landing in Brookfield, canoes and kayaks are available for self-guided tours along the historic Quaboag River.  View acres of ancient rush, bald eagles, blue herons, and bitterns in their natural habitat. Learn of the Native American encampments along this historic part of the Quaboag River.  Unique photos taken by local photographers of the river, its wildlife and natural habitat will be on display through out the month, as well as historic facts of the river.
                                                                                                      
CRUISE THE QUABOAG:
One-hour narrative cruise trips will be available throughout the month. Relax aboard the “Suzanna” and learn the history of one of the first English inland settlement towns in New England, its Native American history and the protected natural resources still in existence today.   Private cruises with lunch provided are also available with reservation and deposit. 

NATIONAL BOATING AND FISHING WEEK/OTHER JUNE EVENTS:
June 1 – 8th is National Boating and Fishing Week.  Please review rules and regs for a safe 2008 season.
June 7 & 8--FREE FISHING WEEKEND! Take a friend or family member fishing--you won't need a fishing license for these two days!  “Socks For Siberia” Festival Raffle/Silent Auction, June 14, 2008 @ Hyland Orchards.  Check out their web site….This is a great story !!

 *OPEN MICS:  
Every Friday evening beginning around 6:30, Mary Smith hosts an open mic opportunity for musicians and singers alike.  Spectators are welcome and encouraged!   Check out “you-tube” (search Whites Landing) for some of the performances.   

*LIVE MUSIC:
Saturday and Sunday afternoons enjoy the sound of local musicians at our unique outdoor setting by the river..
A variety of live music will be offered each weekend afternoon (musicians always wanted). Grilled food/beer& wine available. (weather permitting) .           

SUNSETS ARE A DAILY EVENT !!
